Shetland's largest and most spectacular Up-Helly-Aa event is held in Lerwick annually in January.  It is a world-famous Viking fire festival enjoyed by locals and visitors alike.  Following the day's festivities, torchlight procession and galley burning, revellers head off to the many halls for a night of dancing and merry-making.

One of the participating halls is Lerwick's Clickimin Centre, where Hosts, Hostesses and their guests have enjoyed the sound of the Wayne Robertson Ceilidh Dance Band since 2007.  Choice of band is key to a successful event  whatever you may be planning and we are delighted that the band will return to Shetland in 2010.  One of Scotland's premier bands, Wayne Robertson and his team ensure that the party at Clickimin Centre gets off to a flying start and the pace is maintained from 9 p.m. until 8 a.m. the following morning.  The dance floor is full to capacity throughout the party and the band's dynamism is astounding.

In our dealings with Wayne Robertson and fellow band members we find that they are extremely professional, courteous and good fun.  The band's versatility should not be under-estimated, and the renowned singing skills of both Gill Simpson and Steven Carcary ensure that the tempo is varied.
We are happy to recommend the Wayne Robertson Ceilidh Band.

I got married in august last year, when we decided on the date i knew a good band to call. I have had them play at my 18th and have booked them for my 21st, and knew they would do great for the wedding. They play the music you like, i had a mixture of scottish and all the classic. My fist dance was no problem for them what ever i wonted if they could they would learn it and they did, it was perfect. Me and my bridesmaids where never off the dance floor the whole night including the guests. The night kept going the whole way through and the end comes to quick. The day was made by the great band i would defeinatly recommend them to anyone looking for a great band for a wedding or party.
